Another year has come and gone. Time seems to fly by these days. It seems like the older you get, the faster a year goes by. 2019 has neither been as good as I’d hope nor as bad as I’d feared. I wrote some goals for 2019 and I am proud to say that I achieved most of them.
Blog
I did well with my blog this year. I didn’t write as much as in 2019, but with over 60 blog posts written, I’m quite happy with how well I’ve done. As I said in my blog post a few days ago, I am not going to do any sex toy reviews on my blog anymore. Hopefully, this will free up enough time for me to write more smut and more opinion pieces about sex. I want to participate in more memes and I hope to get that sense of community back. I want to read other sex bloggers’ blogs again and write some round-ups. Maybe not every week, but certainly every month.
I am also happy that I rose in the ranking for Molly’s Top 100 Sex Blogs, moving from 65th place in 2018 to 58th place in 2019. Maybe I can rise even further up the ranks in 2020, although that’s not my ultimate goal.
I also missed doing the Summer 100 Sex Bloggers Blog challenge. I hosted this in 2018 with Victoria from Pretty Pink Lotus Bud but was too busy in 2019 to host it. As I do enjoy this challenge, I plan to take it up again in 2020.
Novels
I am happy to say that I finished and published one of my erotic novels, The Insatiable Jane Travers, which you can buy on Amazon (what are you waiting for?). I wrote another erotic novel in 2019 which I hope to edit and publish in 2020, so keep your eye out for that. I am also planning to write 2 brand new novels this year. It’s going to be a busy year, but I’m very excited to start writing again. I feel like most of 2019 was taken up with editing.
Paid writing gigs
2019 saw the end of a collaboration with one of my paid writing gigs due to them going out of business (RIP Sunsette). That really annoyed me, as they paid well and on time and didn’t have a ludicrous rights retention policy.
However, I found some new opportunities. I am writing at Medium now (https://medium.com/@romanticisa) where I publish smut for My Erotica. I haven’t written a lot of stories yet, but will hopefully write a lot more in the new year.
I am also writing for Frolic Me, although so far only one of my stories has been published. I just finished a new story which should get published soon in the New Year, so keep your eye out for that!
I am hoping to find some more paid writing opportunities in 2020, as I ultimately would like to make enough money on my writing that I can work part-time. I realise that may not happen in 2020 though.
Mood/mental health
2019 has not been a great year for me mental-health wise. I was made redundant from my job and although that was my choice (and I got a decent payout), it was still hard to finish working there when I knew I was on my way out. I am starting a new job in January, which will hopefully be better for my mental health. I am excited to start something new at least.
I am also going to continue with my bullet journalling, only this time in a more effective way. I kept a bullet journal in 2019 but was very rigid with what I put into it, and so it ended up not really meeting my needs. I have started a new, more dynamic bullet journal for 2020 which will help me keep track of everything, but also feed my creativity.
Another thing I am going to do more of in 2020 is taking sexy selfies. I started doing it a few months back and really loved it, but then my MH took a dive, I got too busy and I stopped taking pictures. I am planning on taking loads of sexy pictures; whether I post them on social media or not is another question. But I do this for myself, as it gives me quite a boost.
I am looking forward to 2020 with optimism. Yes, making resolutions on New Year’s is as arbitrary as making them on your birthday or any other day of the year, but I like a date where I can reset what has happened to me in the past and look forward to a brighter future. Whether or not that will materialise.
I didn’t specifically write this for the Wicked Wednesday meme, but it fits well, so click the link below to read other bloggers’ posts.
The Insatiable Jane Travers is out now!
It’s the roaring twenties.
Desperate to escape the stifling confines of her life with her aunt and uncle in New York, Jane Travers arrives at her friend Rachel’s country home determined to enjoy a summer full of fun and excitement. Rachel has promised her risqué parties, but what awaits Jane is beyond her wildest dreams. Guided by her old flame, Sidney Fitzroy, and the sensual singer Lillian Smith, Jane enthusiastically embarks on a journey of sexual self-discovery.
With Sidney and Lillian both satisfying her deepest desires, Jane sheds her restrictive upbringing and embraces her newfound freedom. As her feelings for both Lillian and Sidney intensify, Jane faces an impossible choice: a stable future with Sidney or a lifetime of excitement with Lillian.
But how can she choose when her heart belongs to both of them?
I love that you have linked this for 2020, and that you have clear plans for 2020. This might be the first year that I have actually planned quite extensively, have a ‘road plan’ and a motto!
