Christmas spirit

It’s almost Christmas! Seasons of mist and mellow fruitfulness. Oh no wait, that is autumn. ‘T is the season to be jolly. That’s the one.

So I haven’t really been writing much. I find December always a very trying time. Things are busy at work as we are wrapping up the last nits before the New Year. I have to shop for Christmas presents and make my truffles to give to various friends and acquaintances. And in the shuffle my writing suffers. Which is a bad thing. I wrote so much during November’s NaNoWriMo and I loved every minute of it. I really have to get into the habit again of writing every morning before everyone else gets up. That will put me in the right mood for the rest of the day.

So what have I been doing instead of writing and apart from getting ready for Christmas? I have been reading a lot. I have been trying to get acquainted with new romance authors and I haven’t really found any so far that I was very impressed with. So if you have any recommendations, please let me have it in the comments.

I have read two books by Jo Nesbo. Apart from romance I quite like mysteries and thrillers and I really enjoy Jo Nesbo’s Harry Hole series. They are dark and gripping,  but not always depressing. Hmm…that doesn’t sound like much of a recommendation, but they really are good.

Christmas season comes with Christmas parties and this year my work has decided to allow spouses to come to the party as well. As the company pays for a hotel room on the night of the party, my husband and I have arranged sleepovers for the kids and we are going to have a great night out. An evening and night where we don’t have to worry about the kids? Too good to pass up. I have my outfit ready: a demure dress with a suspender belt, stockings and very seductive (read: crotchless) panties underneath. Not that anyone will see it, but my husband and I will know what’s underneath the dress and that adds all the fun. Can’t wait till Friday!
