Rocks Off Ltd sent me this bottle of lube. I love using lube and the shipment of this sample was particularly timely as my current bottle of lube started to get a little bit empty.
I have to say, I really like the box that Dr Rocco’s Pleasure Emporium Lubrication Potion came in. It’s very steampunk and I love that. It’s not often that I comment on the box of a particular sex toy (let alone lube!), but this was worth a mention. The name is also great, it makes it sound far more exciting than your standard lubrication. (I would love to go to Dr Rocco’s Pleasure Emporium to be honest!)
This lube is a water-based lube, which means you can use it with all your silicone sex toys. Of course you can also use it with your other sex toys and in any other situation you may find yourself reaching for some lube. The only disappointing thing about the ingredients of this lube is that it has glycerin, which is not great for the pH factor in our vaginas. So be careful if you are susceptible to yeast infections.
The bottle inside the box looks just as awesome. It has the same logo on it, so you can throw away the box and still be able to admire the artwork. I used to prefer push pumps on my lube bottles, but I have lately found that pumps can become stuck (and then suddenly start working, squirting lube everywhere) and the lube in those bottles are by necessity thinner and more watery. So I was by all means not upset to see that this does not come in a pump bottle.
Neither is the lid fussy to work with. You just press in the one side in order to open it up. Then tip and squeeze and you’ve got the lube you need. I have reapplied mid-wank and mid-partnered sex and on both occasions it was easy and quick to do. No hassle, no mess.
So…what about the Dr Rocco’s Pleasure Emporium Lubrication Potion itself? As I said above, I have used this lube in various situations, for clitoral stimulation as well as penetration and I love it. It’s nice and thick, although not too thick, and lasts quite a long time. I used a different lube before this (yes, in a pump) and it was thinner and didn’t last nearly as long as this one. It also didn’t give me strange feelings in my vagina, like some of the more “exotic” heating and/or cooling lubes are wont to do.
I am also happy to report that so far, I have not ended up with a yeast infection, so despite there being glycerin in the lube, it has not affected me. For full disclosure I have to mention that I did not test this lube for anal play, simply because I’m not into anal, so if you are looking for a lube particularly for anal play, you may want to check out some other reviews of this product.
For all other play, if you’re not sensitive to glycerin, I can heartily recommend this lube.
You can get the Dr Rocco’s Pleasure Emporium Lubrication Potion at Rocks Off for £9.99.
