I attended Eroticon at the end of March, which was an absolute blast. At Eroticon I met the great folks from Hot Octopuss who generously agreed to send me the Hot Octopuss Pulse III Duo to test. This toy is a couple’s toy and works best paired with a penis-owner, which is where my husband came in. He was all too glad to help.
The Hot Octopuss Pulse III Duo comes in a sleek box with a charging cord, pouch, charging cable and remote control button. The unit has to be charged for about 4 hours before use. You have to ensure that you connect the cable properly, because if you connect it the wrong way around, it will give you a green indicator light which will make you think that it is charged. Pay attention to the handy leaflet that comes with the toy.
There are two motors on the Hot Octopuss Pulse III Duo: one for the penis owner with six vibration patterns and one on the top for the vulva owner with three speeds (thankfully no patterns). The vibrations are not your typical vibrations, as Hot Octopuss uses oscillation instead, which is a slightly different technology, the same as they use for their Queen Bee.
The main unit is turned on by a raised button on the side and then you can adjust the patterns by using separate up and down buttons. It’s fairly straightforward and easy to use. The vibration for the vulva owner is controlled by the remote control button which you have to press and hold to control the speeds.
My husband and I found the Hot Octopuss Pulse III Duo really easy to use. Hubby doesn’t usually use a masturbation sleeve, so this was a first for him too. Because the sides of the sleeve are flexible, it was super easy to fit it around his penis. We started out with him not being super hard and that was not an issue at all. Once I turned the vibrations on, hubby’s eyes widened. He absolutely loved the feel of the oscillations on his penis and it took him hardly any time at all to become really hard. Because of the flexibility of the sides of the sleeve, the toy could accommodate his girth without problems.
There are a few ways you can use the Hot Octopuss Pulse III Duo as a couple’s toy, but the position we prefer is with hubby on his back and me straddling his penis with the toy attached. If I turn the vibrations on the top of the toy on full (3rd setting), I get enough stimulation to get me warmed up. We love the fact that we can cuddle and let the toy do its work. We prefer to let the toy get us really aroused before we ditch it and move onto intercourse, but hubby has been able to orgasm with just the toy as well. I find it harder to reach an orgasm, but then I am a power queen and I don’t think the vibrations on the top of the Hot Octopuss Pulse III Duo are strong enough for me.
We tried using the Pulse III Duo with and without lube, but hubby prefers it with lube. Although he was a bit hesitant to use a masturbating sleeve – considering this was the first time he tried anything like this – he has really taken a liking to the Hot Octopuss Pulse III Duo, which I think is great, as I love sharing my love for sex toys with him.
All in all, I loved the Hot Octopuss Pulse III Duo. Sure, it doesn’t give me an orgasm, but it’s a great toy for foreplay (even though I hate that term) and hubby reckons we will use it as a solo toy for him in the future (the occasion has not arisen yet). I can really recommend it.
