It’s New Year’s Eve. 2016 is finally coming to an end. On a public level, 2016 has not been the greatest. We have lost a lot of loved celebrities, the US has elected a vile, hateful lowlife as a president and the UK has voted to go back to the 1950s during the Brexit referendum. The world has stood idly by while Syrian civilians have been bombed into oblivion and there have been more bombings and acts of terrorism than I would like to recall. I am sure we will all be happy to see the end of 2016. Continue reading “Goodbye 2016, hello 2017”
I can’t believe it’s less than a week till Christmas. Where has the time gone? I entered into December high on my success in NaNoWriMo, determined to finish a first edit of my manuscript by Christmas and look at me now, I am totally procrastinating. I have only today started editing, and have only finished the first chapter. Continue reading “Writing, blogging and procrastinating”
Okay, so. I have wanted to talk about this for a while, but never really found the right platform. So now that I have this blog, I might as well fling it up here.
I recently had a hysterectomy, or to be precise: a total pelvic clearance. Which means removal of the uterus, ovaries and cervix. The whole nine yards. I have suffered with endometriosis since I was 12 and as my husband and I didn’t want any more children and I was sick and tired of being in pain, I chose for the drastic option when my surgeon presented me with the options available. It’s almost Christmas! Seasons of mist and mellow fruitfulness. Oh no wait, that is autumn. ‘T is the season to be jolly. That’s the one.
So I haven’t really been writing much. I find December always a very trying time. Things are busy at work as we are wrapping up the last nits before the New Year. I have to shop for Christmas presents and make my truffles to give to various friends and acquaintances. And in the shuffle my writing suffers. Continue reading “Christmas spirit”
My husband and I bought a sex toy not long ago. It’s our first sex toy and I am aghast that we have waited so long to do it. Because sex toys are fun! Anyhow, we bought the Ann Summers Signature Remote Control Love Egg.
What really drew us to choose this one was the remote control aspect of it. It has a range of 20 meters, although we have not tested that yet. But the idea that we can be in different parts of the house and my husband can control the vibrations really appealed to us. Continue reading “Sex toy review: Remote control love egg”
I have always wanted to go on a writer’s retreat. “Serious” writers tend to scoff at those retreats. They say, “If you can’t fit in your writing during your normal day and write in whatever space you have available, a writer’s retreat isn’t going to help you.” That statement might be right, but that’s no reason to completely diss the writer’s retreat.
